Remember those “choose your own ending” books that were so popular a few years ago? This is sort of like that, except here, you get to choose the direction of Adaptive Living.
I’m developing a production schedule for this newsletter, and I’d really appreciate your input. I’d love to know which topics interest you. If you’d like to suggest topics that I’ve not touched on, feel free to make suggestions. I’d be enormously grateful. Pick however many interest you, or all of them! Either way, use the comments to let me know what you want to see.
Here are the options I thought of;
Recipes to help stretch your grocery budget. This could include best tips for once-a-week cooking, homemade bread, buns, and sweet treats. Cheap ways to make different types of broth, and how to use them. Easy to make and cheap meals that will fill you and your family (eliminating the need to snack later). How to make homemade soups from scraps, and so on. The sky is the limit here.
Preserving. A series of posts on different ways to preserve foods, for a variety of budgets and skill sets. This could be pressure canning, hot-water bath canning, dehydrating, smoking, etc.
Repurposing: Ways to mend ripped, broken, worn-out items. Places to acquire vintage or 2nd hand clothing, books, and other items to help ease the strain on our trash dumps, and live more cheaply.
Prepping: How to prepare for various scenarios from civil unrest, to dangerous storms, floods, extreme heat or cold, zombies (just kidding), home invasion (not kidding), and infrastructure or financial collapse.
Basic First Aid: Just what you think - basic first aid and ways to build an effective first aid kit for your home without spending $100 or more.
Herbals: Herbal remedies, preventers, and health boosters. Many of which you might be able to grow or harvest yourself!
Gardening: Articles that teach you how to grow vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs indoors, in containers, in-ground, and even the finer points of sprouting and microgreens!
Hobbies: Which hobbies could enrich our lives and provide us with ways to stretch our budgets?
Basic home improvement: How to replace taps, fix leaky bathtub spouts, replace the locks, install weather stripping, replace a window screen, and lots more!
If there’s something you’d like to see me cover that I’ve not listed here, let me know. All of your responses will help guide the future of this newsletter. I can’t wait to see your thoughts!
Repurposing, Prepping, Herbals, Gardening are the ones for me. Cooking would be entertaining as I enjoy watching cooking shows. But I'll read what you write. So have fun!
All excellent. I am looking forward to reading them. I have been lax on my newsletter as my time has been spent writing a romance novel trilogy. I have used the pen name Kathie Baset. They are available on Amazon and Kindle. Also when you go to my website there is a free short story to download.
